NC for Fams Partnership Update - October 2026

There is so much to celebrate at NC for FAMs! We love seeing what happens when churches, nonprofits, agencies, and individuals each bring their piece of the puzzle to supporting foster care in North Carolina.

One recent celebration is the Wake House Visitation Center, a space where children in foster care can spend meaningful time with their biological parents who are working toward reunification. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the project is now fully funded! We’re now collecting items to make the space feel even more welcoming and cozy. View the Wake House Wish List here.

We’re also continuing to build relationships across our community, connecting needs with people and organizations ready to say YES—whether that means providing practical resources, making new connections, or creating opportunities to gather, pray, and collaborate.

We believe there are more than enough people who care. They just need to know where they fit. NC for FAMs helps make those connections!

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the children and families impacted by foster care across North Carolina, especially for safe reunification and strong support systems around biological, foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
  • Pray for the social workers and agency staff carrying incredibly important and often difficult work each day.
  • Pray for continued unity among churches, nonprofits, agencies, and community partners. We want collaboration, not competition, to define this work.
  • Pray that more churches and individuals will recognize the unique piece they can bring and be willing to say YES when needs arise.

A Practical Next Step: Join the Big Change Challenge!

This October, we’re inviting groups, families, and individuals to join our Big Change Challenge! Simply collect your spare change throughout the month and watch how those small gifts add up to make a big impact in foster care.

Participate individually, with your family, small group, workplace, or friends! Sign up here.

Beyond October, stay connected with NC for FAMs to discover ongoing opportunities to serve and meet needs in our community. Follow along through our website (scroll to the bottom and subscribe to our email list!), Facebook, or Instagram.

You can also partner financially through a one-time or monthly gift. Your generosity helps NC for FAMs continue connecting, equipping, and mobilizing our community to say YES when needs arise.

We are incredibly grateful for Shelter Church and for the way you all continue to invest in this work with us!
